For whom are our products intended ?

Restaurants (independant or chains), caterers, charming traditional hotels in the city, guest houses in the countryside or in the mountains, 5* palaces by the sea, outdoor or sailing activities. All professionals who can make the environment a priority while creating beautiful and meaningful concepts.

    Lifetime of our materials

Our materials are stable, unchanging and safe with daily use ; suitable for hot and cold foods and liquids.

Are our collections dish-washer safe ?

    Yes ! we recommend washing at 70°C / 160°F ( 2 hour cycle) or 100ºC / 212ºF ( 30 mn cycle ) for a professional dish-washer.

Where are our products made ?

Each of our products is designed in Europe and independently certified to the highest European standards (FDA and LFGB approved).

Our ranges are ethically produced in China within a carefully selected facility that fulfils all requirements within our strict manufacturing framework. In addition to brand new facility that is in compliance with current safety and health codes, all of our employees are paid a fair living wage. No child labor is allowed.

What are we doing to reduce our impact on the planet ?

We consciously choose how we do business. We choose sea freight over air freight. We choose recyclable over single-use. And we choose materials as the naturally derived materials that set us apart.

Do we audit our production process ?

The manufacturing process is ISO9001 compliant and regularly audited for labour standards, health, safety, environmental and business ethics. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

    Materials

Is the bamboo grown organically ?

Yes ! Natspirit chose exotic bamboo because it is a renewable resource. The bamboo fibre used in our products is collected from the sawdust that is shed from cutting and shaping exotic wood flooring.

What is our material made of ?

Our material is an alternative to traditional plastics, fragile and disposable dishware. This composite material is described as a biopolymer, which means it is comprised of bamboo fibres, a renewable material, and 100% food-grade melamine binder, which helps to extend the life of the products (a sustainable practice!). Natspirit products comply to all food safety standards (FDA and LFGB) and are free of BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Cadmium and Mercury.

Is the melamine binder used in our products safe for use ?

Absolutely! Our food-grade melamine binder is 100% food safe. Suitable for all types of food and liquid below boiling temperature. No microwave and conventional oven use.

What dyes are used for Natspirit products ?

All dyes used on our products are 100% food-grade and entirely non-toxic. Dry color pigments (mineral or non organic) are mixed with the powder composite used to make the products. Because the color is in the mass of the product, and not coated on top of it, there is no color transfer or leaching. As there is no external varnish, the product maintains its original appearance and color over time.

Are our bamboo products biodegradable ?

If buried in the ground (completely covered by earth), the bamboo fibres content will decompose in 2-3 years. The non-organic elements are not considered biodegradable.

Do our bamboo products break ?

While our bamboo products are durable and long-lasting, this eco-friendly material is not unbreakable. It will not shatter like
ceramic or glass but if dropped at a bad angle on a hard floor, a chip or crack may occur.

    Why silicone ?

Silicone is the miracle component that makes products the versatile and durable wonders they are. No other material is food-
safe and BPA-free in freezing temperatures and soaring heat. And the best part is that we are directly contributing to saving
the planet while using products made from natural materials that reduce waste.

Are products free from BPA and other nasties ?

All of our products are made of food-grade silicone that’s free of harmful chemicals such as BPA, BPS, PVC or phthalates. No nasties guaranteed ! Each product is independently certified to the highest European standards (FDA and LFGB approved) to make it official

    Do products undergo testing ?

Each of our products is independently certified to the highest European standards (FDA and LFGB approved). No nasties guaranteed

What temperature does silicone resist ?

Our standard is a silicone base that supports from -50 ºC to + 230 ºC.

    Microwave and ovensafe ?

Yes. All our silicone products are safe to use in the microwave up to 230°C and oven-safe up to 230°C (446°F).

    Is silicone eco-friendly ?

Silicone is an extremely durable material that’s kind to the environment. You will be untouched by harmful chemicals that are commonly absorbed by food served on regular plastic tableware. And our planet will thank you for choosing silicone products because the environmental footprint for silicone production is much lower than for comparable materials.

    Lifetime of our material

Our material is stable, unchanging and poses absolutely no health risk with daily use and is suitable for hot and cold foods and liquids. Our products feature a premium matte finish. There is no varnish, coating nor paint on the surface of our products, so they’ll never fade, peel or leach harmful chemicals.

What’s the best way to clean products ?

Wash them by hand with warm soapy water or let the dishwasher take over for you. They all love temperatures of up to 230°C so you can pop them into the dishwasher every single time without impacting the product.

How should they be stored ?

If possible store your silicone dinnerware separately to plastic products because they can absorb a plastic smell if kept in close proximity for too long

How about white residue after cleaning ?

Very rarely minerals that naturally occur in hard water can leave a white residue on silicone products commonly spotted on wine glasses cleaned in the dishwasher. This residue is not harmful and shouldn’t alarm you.
A simple trick to keep your products squeaky clean is to wipe them down rather than letting them drip-dry. And if you need to remove any existing residue, simply pop your product in boiling water

How do I get food stains off silicone products ?

Those tasty tomato-based sauces can unfortunately stain your products. To prevent food stains, clean your product immediately. Here are two simple things that help if a nasty food stain happens to hang around : Place your product in direct sunlight for a day or let the dishwasher deal with the mess over several wash cycles. Generally food stains fade over time and will disappear eventually

Is it safe to cut food in silicone products ?

Yes. Products are made from the highest quality silicone, which makes them extremely durable. We recommend only using dinner knives to cut food as sharp knives can damage the surface

Do you guarantee the suction of your plates ?

No. There’s no guarantee that the plates will suction to your table or the surface that you’re using it on. The suction depends on the condition and material of the surface. And sometimes these two simply won’t go together

Do the stickie plates/bowls stick to wooden surfaces ?

Yes. Our stickie plates/bowls stick to most wooden surfaces as long as they’re sealed and smooth.

    What about odour ?

The odour of silicone mainly comes from the vulcanizer added. Normally the vulcanizer should be volatilized during mold production, but sometimes there may be residue which makes the silicone have a certain odour. By using better vulcanizer such as Platinum or taking better post cure, the residue will be eliminated and the products will be odorless.

Why is there a smell coming from the silicone ?

Silicone in itself is odourless, but smells from food, oils, plastics or detergent can take a liking to your products. If possible store your dinnerware separately to plastic products because they can absorb a plastic smell if kept in close proximity for too long.
If your product has taken on a scent of something it has come in contact with, placing it in boiling water for about 15 minutes or baking it in the oven at 100°C (212°F) for about an hour should remove any smell

Product with smells of soap ?

Phosphate-free dishwashing detergents may cause silicone tableware to hold on to certain smells. In no way is this a risk !
Adding a dash of white vinegar or a non-toxic rinse aid to your wash cycle will fix this in no time.
To prevent this from happening in the first place, we recommend cleaning on the steam or dry setting when using your dishwasher. Giving our products enough space within your dishwasher will also help to rinse the detergent off thoroughly.

Should it be thrown away if it yellows ?

No, silicone, although yellowing, still retains all its physical and chemical properties. We can continue to use it until it breaks or stops making the use we expect.

    Weight constrains

Musculoskeletal disorders cover a wide range of affections of the locomotor system, which can be caused or aggravated by professional activity: handling, repetitive movements, working postures, pace. MSDs are by far the most common recognised occupational diseases and represent the leading cause of compensated occupational diseases. However, in order to prevent the risk of MSDs, Natspirit thought of designing light, stackable tableware from the outset: posture, strength, repetitiveness and duration are thus greatly reduced by the use of our products in favour of other heavier and therefore much more
    restrictive materials.

What is enamelware and how is it made?

Enamelware is a type of dinnerware made from a metal base, such as steel or cast iron, which is coated with a layer of enamel. Enamel is a durable and heat-resistant glass-like substance that is fused to the metal surface through a high-temperature firing process. The enamel coating provides a smooth, non-stick surface and helps protect the underlying metal from rust and corrosion.

    Advantages of enamel dinnerware:

Durability: Enamel dinnerware is known for its durability and resistance to chipping. The glass coating adds a layer of protection to the metal base, making it less prone to breakage compared to other types of dinnerware.

Heat Resistance: Enamel dinnerware is highly heat-resistant, allowing it to be used in ovens, stovetops, and grills. It can withstand high temperatures without melting or warping, making it suitable for cooking and serving hot meals.

Non-Stick Properties: The smooth and non-porous enamel coating provides a non-stick surface, making it easier to clean and maintain. Food particles are less likely to stick to the dinnerware, resulting in effortless cleaning and reduced staining.

Hygienic: The enamel coating of dinnerware is non-porous, which means it does not absorb liquids or odors. This makes enamel dinnerware more hygienic compared to porous materials like wood or certain types of ceramics.

Versatility: Enamel dinnerware is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It can be used for everyday meals or special occasions, and its sturdy construction makes it ideal for camping, picnics, and other outdoor activities.

Aesthetics: Enamel dinnerware often has a vintage or retro look, adding a touch of charm and nostalgia to the dining experience. The wide range of colors and designs available allows for personal style and customization.

Eco-Friendly: Enamel dinnerware is considered environmentally friendly because it is made from natural materials like glass and metal. It is a long-lasting alternative to disposable or plastic dinnerware, reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Chemical-Free: Enamel dinnerware is free from harmful chemicals like lead and cadmium, which can be found in some types of ceramics or glazes. It provides a safe and non-toxic option for serving and consuming food.

Overall, enamel dinnerware combines durability, heat resistance, ease of cleaning, and aesthetic appeal, making it a versatile and practical choice for everyday use.

    Why can the colours differ?

The tonal colour of the products may vary slightly with other products. This is due to our production methods. Each item is hand dipped in a thick enamel glaze and then fired in the kiln in extremely high temperatures. Depending on the product, this process can be repeated numerous times. The coloured pigment in the glaze reacts during the firing process, giving each piece its own varying character.

    Preparing for first-time use

Before using our enamelware for the first time, wash it with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. This helps remove any manufacturing residues.

What can I cook with my enamelware?

Enamelware is suitable for various types of cooking, such as boiling, stewing, frying, baking, and roasting. You can use it to prepare soups, sauces, pasta, vegetables, meats, desserts, and more. It is particularly well-suited for slow cooking and one-pot meals.

Is enamelware safe to eat food from?

Enamelware is free from harmful chemicals and nickel and lead, which make it entirely safe to eat from.

Can I put enamelware in the oven?

The enamelware is designed to be used in the oven including flame and induction hobs, up to 270ºC.

    Is enamelware microwave safe?

Enamelware is made from steel, so its metallic properties are not suitable for microwaves.

    Is enamelware freezer safe?

All of our enamelware is safe to be put in the freezer

    Can enamelware chip or break?

Enamelware is generally durable but can chip or break if subjected to rough handling, strong impacts, or if dropped onto a hard surface. Careful handling and storage can help prevent such damage. Additionally, avoid using metal utensils, as they can chip the enamel coating.

Is enamelware safe to use if it is chipped?

Enamelware is known for being unbreakable thanks to its durable properties. However, it may still chip, adding character if you ask us. If your enamelware has a chip you can still use it as normal and it won’t affect the safety of your product.

    Rust prevention

Although enamelware is resistant to rust, prolonged exposure to moisture can lead to rust formation. To prevent this, dry the enamelware thoroughly after washing and avoid leaving it submerged in water for extended periods.

How should I care for enamelware?

    Follow these guidelines:

Avoid sudden temperature changes: Enamelware is sensitive to extreme temperature changes. Allow it to cool down gradually before cleaning, and avoid placing hot enamelware in cold water.

Stains and discoloration: Over time, enamelware may develop stains or discoloration, especially if it’s used for cooking acidic foods. You can remove stains by soaking the affected area with a mixture of baking soda and water, then gently scrubbing with a non-abrasive sponge.

Avoid metal utensils: To prevent scratching the enamel surface, use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils when eating with enamelware.

Storage: When storing enamelware, ensure it is completely dry to prevent moisture buildup, which can lead to rusting. Stack the pieces carefully, using protective layers such as cloth or paper towels between them to avoid scratching.
